POL 200-220

The copyright itself does a good job in protecting artists from forgeries and fakes as seen in the example with Vincent Van Gogh's  artwork (205). This is important because those out there seeking to use famous art work for personal gain are caught as soon as possible. This is were the authenticators play an important role by making sure famous art pieces are indeed the real deal by whatever means necessary which include licking, smelling, and touching the piece itself (205). This is important because no art collector wants to spend their money on a fake or a forgery. A Swiss magazine states that this self portrait of Van Gogh is a forgery. What do you think?  http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2014/01/is_this_a_van_gogh_self-portra.php
