Lessig (213-34)

Copyrights as a whole should not be forever so by extending them and paying congress to pass the bill will in turn make them last forever so long as congress gets money to accomplish this (215). Basically this means that "money talks" and when Lessig states imagine if one was one of those lucky copyright owners who continues to receive money from Robert Frost's poems (216). He continues on by stating that expiring copyrights in certain works is getting closer but gives hope that by the aid of congress one could extend the copyright as long as a hefty donation is given to congress (217-18). This without a doubt is a selfish act because by owning the rights one can keep making money off the works forever. But even if one has to pay a large amount of money for those rights the cost for paying congress to extend those rights may not be a problem.
